Hull’s City of Culture journey and the orange barrier debacle

One of Trinity Market’s regulars has spoken about his frustrations with the myriad orange barriers and disruption within the City Centre.

Dave Slinger, 46, from Hull’s Old Town, is frustrated with the situation caused by workmen working towards the City’s rebirth, in the approach to the culture celebrations starting in January 2017.

The regeneration work has been ongoing for many months with delays in planning and adverse weather conditions, but Mr Slinger has not seen the progress that he feels should have taken place.

Initially scheduled to be completed by December 2016, the work is now set to be completed by Easter 2017.

In response, Hull City Council and Eurovia were unavailable for comment.
